About Us

The Sri Sathya Sai Baba Centre of Middlefield was inaugurated on July 7th 2000. With Swami's wish, a handful of families came together to serve the communities of Scarborough North and Markham South, an area that, until then, had no Sai Centre of its own.

Our beginnings were humble. The first gatherings were held in a restaurant building, but before long, by Swami's grace, the centre moved into its very own unit at 80 Nashdene Road, making Middlefield the first Sai Centre in the Toronto area to have a home of its own. As the congregation grew, Swami blessed the centre with a second unit next door, opening the doors for many more children in the neighbourhood to attend Sri Sathya Sai Education classes.

The first two years were devoted to construction and to laying the centre's foundations. Through hard work and dedicated service, two former storage units were transformed into a place of peace and worship with everything a Sai Centre needs. In the years that followed, the centre worked towards charitable status, which it proudly achieved in 2008.

Ever since, with Swami's grace, the centre has continued to flourish through the devotion and effort of its members.
